Kersh first experienced success with his debut single, "Goodnight Sweetheart," and the album of the same name. Now he's back on the road supporting "If I Never Stop Loving You," his second project for Curb Records. Kersh is quickly becoming a road veteran, having spent 90 percent of the last two years touring.
With "If I Never Stop Loving You," Kersh attempted to capture the fire of his high-energy live shows. And the high-spirited Texan believes he has achieved that with tunes such as the rocking "The Faster I Go."
"That song reminds me of myself," Kersh admits. "It's high energy, and it's a little bit on the wild side."
He also wraps his lustrous baritone around aching ballads like "It's Out of My Hands" and "I Breathe In, I Breathe Out."
"When singing ballads, you must find a power within that drives you to deliver the words. In the studio, capturing that live energy is our objective," he explained. "Sometimes, I felt myself just singing the song because there was so much emotion and so much feeling in the lyrics that I didn't consciously feel myself putting a lot of effort into it--it just happened. Other times, I found myself wanting to draw as much as I could from myself, while developing a mental picture from the words."
